Other Event-Traditions We Recommend:

Coaches Training
We recommend starting with a specific SportsLeader training for all your coaches so we can dedicate some time to going through all of the below traditions. It also helps to create a family amongst the coaches, solidifying the purpose of WHY we coach.

Fun Activity
Have each mentor coach do something fun with their players. You can do it all together but just make sure each coach is with their players. The purpose is for the players to get to see the coach in a non-coaching environment and have some fun together.

Virtue Camp
Building camaraderie on the team, a team unity, a team spirit that inspires the kids to want to be there. It gives the players an opportunity to make friends and get to know all of the coaches before the season gets hectic. Contact us for more information.

Father/Son Jersey night or Father/Daughter Jersey Night
A life-changing experience best done the night before your first game of the season. A ceremony of affirmation to help Dads bond with their children.

Letter to Mom
This becomes a treasure for Mom. A ceremony to help our players communicate their gratitude to the Moms.

Bring ’em Back
Invite all former players to a game during the season. If possible keep it a surprise from the current players. Have them gather in a room/gym and then bring your current players and surprise them. It makes all involved feel like part of the family, part of the tradition.

Senior Sendoff
A few weeks or a few months after the season, have a special hike or dinner with your graduating Seniors. Talk about college, life ... Let them know that they are always welcome within the program, that you want to stay in touch with them, that you care ...

Team Service Project
Do something together as a team to serve others in your community.

Coaches Marriage Renewal
Have a special evening in the off season to show your spouses how much you care about them and appreciate the sacrifices they make so you can coach.
