Helping Girls Be More Confident

Image 6

SportsLeader has a ceremony called Father-Daughter jersey night that many of you will be having here shortly to kick off your season.

The objective is to have the Dads affirm their daughters in public. We encourage the Dads to say 4 things:

  1. I love you
  2. I'm proud of you because of x,y,z
  3. You're great at x,y,z
  4. You are beautiful on the inside and out

This shows your daughter that you notice her, that you care about her, that you are proud of her.

Every girl NEEDS to hear and experience these things from her Dad.

The more confident a girl is in her relationship with her Dad, in many cases the more confident she will be in other areas of her life as well.

If you'd like more information about the ceremony just send me an email with any questions you might have.

Here below are two notes from Dads who participated:

I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed last night I think it’s a great thing you are doing for the school and my daughter. Loren and I are really close and last night drew us even closer together she even thank me last night for going and said she really enjoyed. I would strongly recommend all the sports programs do this or the school as whole; I talk to some of the dads after and they to were happy they did this. I appreciate everything you and your staff have done for the school and Loren, this just reconfirms why I love this school and what it stands for no one else compares. Loren LOVES being there and everything about it and that gives me great comfort in knowing she has made the right decision. I wanted to thank you in person last night but you go out of there before I could so again thank you.

I would wish to thank you organizing such a wonderful event last night. The father/daughter night for the girls softball team was simply the most amazing experience, other than the birth of my daughters, that I have ever had the privilege to be part of. The outpouring of emotion from each and every father was the most incredible expression of love I have ever had the chance to witness. From a personal standpoint, the opportunity to express the love, pride and admiration that I have for Kristen to others in a public forum was an amazing feeling for both of us. While I know that my daughter can see, feel and experience the love I have for her, to be able to share that with others was an amazing feeling.

I also had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Judd and he expressed that this was a program that was going to be implemented throughout the school for all programs. If there is ANYWAY I can be of assistance to promote this program please feel free to call on me. I would be more than honored to explain to others the impact this had on myself and my daughter.

Again, thank you so very much for this program and thank you very much for giving my daughter the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful school.

Dove recently did an interesting study with a forensics artist. They had women sit in a waiting room talking to someone, getting to know one another.

Then they went into a room with the forensics artist and without him seeing them, they sat down and described their faces while he drew. They never looked at one another.

Afterwards, the artist invited in the person who spoke with that woman and had them describe what the woman looked like, again without looking at one another.

Then the artist showed each woman both drawings - the one she described about herself and the one the other …

In most cases, the one where the other described the face of the woman - was more accurate. Click on the link below to watch and please share this with your wife and daughters.

How would your wife or daughter(s) describe themselves? Do they think they are beautiful? Can you do something to help them?
