Vision and Mission

SportsLeader has been honored and excited to work with Franciscan University of Steubenville this past year. They have embraced our virtue program in all sports.

One of the things that I have found personally inspiring interacting with all of the FUS coaches is that they have a definitive vision for their teams. They have a singular purpose in everything that they do.

Please click on the link below to watch some 30 second videos from many of the different FUS coaches sharing that vision and mission.

Can you define the vision of your program in 30 seconds? What would it be? Is your school actively trying to promote that vision in everything you do? Or are you on your own?

Athletic Director Chris Ledyard has an annual coaches retreat for every coach at the University to give time to reflect on this vision, mission and purpose. We are happy to be a part of that.

Chris Ledyard says, "The success is built on the fact that we are using sports as a medium, like John Paul II said, 'sports should be a school of virtue,' and that's exactly what we're working toward.

Success comes after that," he said, "If we are faithful to the details of the growth and the personhood of all the individuals who claim to be student athletes, they will have success whether it's academic, spiritual, or athletic."

Does your athletic department or team have a coaches retreat?
