Apples, Seeds and Athletes


“Food” for thought if you will.


Take an apple and cut it in half.

We can count the number of seeds in one apple.

But we cannot count the number of apples in one seed.

One tiny seed can grow into a mature apple tree that will grow over 40 feet high and live over 100 years.

Apples harvested from an average tree can fill 20 boxes that weigh 42 pounds each.

At the same time, apple trees take four to five years to produce their first fruit.

We can count the number of players on our one team.

But we cannot count the number of teams (families, children, businesses, etc) from your players.


One player can grow into a mature person that will impact thousands, possibly millions of people and live to about 100 years.

Fruits harvested from an average person are immeasurable.

At the same time, people take numerous years to to produce their first fruit …

Interesting that an apple tree takes about four years to produce fruit … many coaches have players for about four years …

Coaches, you are kind of like farmers.

When you plant the seeds of virtue, love, team, humility ... they grow and produce such awesome fruit.
